King's Garden

The vision of King's Garden is to see icelandic leaders take ground for Christ by making disciples, planting churches and building leaders according to their calling.

King's Garden leadership network

Print
Since the first King's Garden graduation we have been considering the next step for King's Garden.  It continues to be the goal of King's Garden to have leadership schools although a school like that will not be the case for the coming winter.  Another idea has been brewing.  It is the idea to launch "The King's Garden leadership network."

This is still a forming idea - among the things we have discussed are:

  • Leaders around Iceland who want to encourage one another and stand for important values.
  • Two conditions for members of the network: 1)Encourage another leader in the network once a week 2)Attend a leadership weekend annually.
  • The idea is to have 2-4 leadership weekends every year - around Iceland - Akueyri, Eyjolfsstadir, Hofn, Akranes, Stykkisholmur etc. On these weekends we would worship, pray, fellowship, hold one another accountable to what we have decided to stand for and have learning modules and teaching based on the King's Garden model for leadership development.
  • The purpose of the leadership network is to attend to existing leaders. The King's Garden leadership school is more focused on raising up new leaders while the network is to encourage and build up the existing leaders. Two models that serve the same vision of King's Garden for whole and healthy leaders in Iceland.
  • The leadership network of King's Garden goes across denominations - a net where leaders who want to stand for certain values and vision connect.

In a nutshell

The goal of King's Garden is to build healthy and whole leaders for the Kingdom of God, who serve Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.  The first leadership school of King's Garden was hosted by the Icelandic Christ Church in Reykjavik 2008-2009.  The goal is that at the end of the school year the graduate has grown as a leader and is more whole as an individual.

If you want to support King's Garden we suggest that you support The Masters Institute, which is a friend of King's Garden and has supported King's Garden, both financially and in many other ways.  Currently King's Garden does not have any simple ways to receive support from outside of Iceland.
